Based in our office in West Perth, this role encompasses a broad range of responsibilities across three core areas: payroll processing, accounts administration, and general office support. The successful candidate will participate in end-to-end payroll functions, contribute to accounts payable and receivable operations, and provide day-to-day administrative assistance to keep the team running smoothly. Working closely with the Business Services Manager, this position requires a detail-oriented professional who can manage competing priorities, maintain confidentiality, and bring a proactive, flexible approach to a diverse and evolving workload.
Position Duties
Payroll:
- End to end payroll processing according to legislative requirements and company policies
- Ensure compliance with relevant payroll legislation
- Assist with payroll tax lodgement and worker’s compensation renewal reporting and preparation for multiple states
- Assist with staff onboarding and offboarding processes
- Maintain employee records including new starters, exits and employee changes
- Respond to payroll queries and resolve issues in a timely manner
Accounts Processing:
- Support accounts payable and receivable functions including invoice preparation, data entry and payments
- Prepare and process payments to suppliers ensuring payment obligations are met
- Monitor business bank accounts and complete weekly and monthly bank reconciliations
- Assist in weekly and monthly timesheet reporting and reconciliations
General Admin Duties
- Maintain accurate records and supporting documentation
- Respond to travel queries and coordinate travel bookings as required
- Assist in organising staff functions and special events as requested
- Participate in internal audits and compliance as required
- Other general administration and accounts duties as required to support the team and office as directed by senior management
- Collaborate with the Admin manager to ensure seamless payroll and accounts operations
About you
- Minimum 2yrs payroll and accounts processing experience
- Comfortable working with payroll, accounts, general administration and in a small team
- Advanced experience with MS Office (incl Word, Excel & Outlook) & Adobe PDF
- Advanced experience in MYOB (MYOB Acumatica desirable but not essential) & QuickBooks
- Understanding of Australian payroll legislation including National Employment Standards, Fair Work, and Single Touch Payroll (STP)
- Ability to maintain confidentiality when dealing with personnel information
- Have a pro-active and hands-on approach to fast paced learning
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Solid verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent numeracy skills
- Ability to work independently, show initiative, multitask, meet deadlines and work under pressure
- Ability to obtain an AGSVA Security Clearance if needed (Australian Citizenship required)
