Join our team and play a hands‑on role in maintaining, repairing and replacing metal fabrication components that support a wide range of Council assets.
This role contributes to the safe, reliable and efficient operation of essential infrastructure, delivering valued services to asset owners and the community.
About the role:
- Use your fabrication and welding expertise to maintain and repair a diverse range of Council assets, from water infrastructure to public facilities and flood control structures.
- Apply your technical skills to manufacture, modify and install engineering solutions that keep essential community services operating efficiently.
- Interpret complex engineering drawings and contribute practical solutions to support high-quality infrastructure outcomes.
- Work across a variety of projects and asset types within a collaborative team that values safety, innovation and continuous improvement.
- Play a vital role in supporting a growing community while helping deliver sustainable and reliable infrastructure across Tweed Shire.

- a base salary ranging from $68,487 per annum with competency-based increments up to $78,468 per annum, plus 12% super
- 76 hour, 9 day fortnight

We are seeking:
- Trade‑qualified Metal Fabricator/Boilermaker (Certificate III or equivalent)
with hands‑on post‑apprenticeship experience in a workshop environment.
- Strong technical capability in fitting, machining and welding steel, aluminium and stainless steel using current welding technologies.
- Confident working both independently and as part of a small, customer‑focused team to deliver quality outcomes.
- Clear communicator able to work effectively with supervisors, apprentices, and plant and equipment operators.
- Current drivers licence.

Where it's located:
This position is based in Murwillumbah, and can be directed to work from any Council work site.
