About the role
In this new role, the People and Culture Manager will play a pivotal role in establishing the core people, culture, and employment practices required to support ElectraLith’s continued growth. This is a hands-on, part-time position focused on building practical HR foundations, supporting managers and employees, and ensuring the organisation has the systems, policies and processes required to scale effectively. Reporting to the CEO, and working closely with the General Manager of Operations, the People and Culture Manager will oversee all aspects of the employee lifecycle. They will be responsible for developing and implementing a robust, sustainable HR framework that aligns with ElectraLith’s culture, values and business objectives.
The role requires a pro-active, self-starter approach and the ability to bring expertise across key HR functions, including recruitment, employee experience, compliance, organisational development, and workplace health and well-being.
The People and Culture Manager will also play a critical role in fostering an inclusive, high-performing workplace culture that supports collaboration, innovation and employee engagement.
What you will do
- Manage end-to-end recruitment, including creating job ads, conducting interviews, and supporting visa applications.
- Design and implement onboarding programs to set new hires up for success.
- Develop and maintain HR policies to ensure compliance with Fair Work Australia, WHS legislation, and contemporary awards.
- Act as the primary contact for employee concerns, promoting open communication and resolving workplace issues.
- Oversee performance reviews, professional development plans, and organisational scaling initiatives.
- Conduct benchmarking studies to ensure competitive compensation and advantages.
About you
To succeed in this role you will bring: · Relevant tertiary qualification in human resources, business, employee relations or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
· Demonstrated experience in a senior HR, generalist, People and Culture or HR consulting role.
· Experience establishing HR functions in a start-up, scale-up research, technology, engineering or other technical environment is desirable.
· Sound working knowledge of Australian employment, workplace relations and WHS requirements.
· Experience supporting recruitment, onboarding, performance management and employee relations.
· Ability to distinguish between matters that can be managed internally and those requiring specialist legal, immigration, payroll or safety advice.
· Strong judgement, discretion, communication and stakeholder management skills.
· Ability to work independently and pragmatically in a changing environment.
