Role Description The Pharmacy Intern role at Chemist Warehouse Safety Beach, VIC is a full-time, in office position supporting the efficient and secure operation of the pharmacy. Day-to-day responsibilities include assisting with dispensing prescriptions under supervision, supporting pharmacists in medication counselling, and helping maintain accurate patient records. The intern will contribute to stock management, including ordering, receiving, and merchandising medicines and pharmacy products.
This role also involves providing friendly, informed customer service,
answering basic medication and product queries within scope, and referring complex questions to supervising pharmacists.
The Pharmacy
Intern will participate in compounding tasks where applicable, adhere to regulatory and company policies, and engage in ongoing professional development and training.
Qualifications
- Foundational knowledge in Pharmacy and a commitment to developing professional clinical skills.
- Ability to assist with Prescription processing and accurate dispensing under pharmacist supervision.
- Capacity to collaborate effectively with Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians in a team-based environment.
- Strong Customer Service skills, including clear communication, empathy, and a focus on patient safety.
- Interest or experience in Compounding and handling medications in line with quality and safety standards.
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from an accredited pharmacy degree program and eligible for an intern pharmacist position.
- Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and ability to follow established procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Willingness to learn, adapt in a fast-paced retail pharmacy setting, and work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings as required.
