Our client is a major public health service in South Australia seeking an experienced Principal Clinical Psychologist to lead psychology services across their mental health network. This is a permanent, part-time role at 22.5 hours per week with flexible working days, offering a salary of $123,048 to $133,957 per annum (pro rata). Based in the Southern suburbs of Adelaide, the successful candidate will report to the Allied Health Director and take on a strategic leadership position within a multidisciplinary mental health team.
- Lead and coordinate high-quality psychology services across multiple sites, with responsibility for clinical governance and service quality
- $123,048 to $133,957 p.a. (pro rata), plus professional development support, incremental wage increases, and paid clinical supervision
- Adaptable part-time arrangement with opportunities to conduct research, mentor senior psychologists, and contribute to strategic service development
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate high-quality psychology services across SALHN Mental Health Services.
- Provide expert clinical leadership and advice across service planning, policy development, workforce strategy and complex clinical matters.
- Build strong, collaborative partnerships with clinical leaders and multidisciplinary teams to support integrated, person-centred care.
- Drive strategic psychology and allied health service development, innovation and continuous improvement.
- Oversee clinical standards, service quality,
workforce priorities and resource allocation to ensure effective service delivery.
- Develop and implement supervision and professional development frameworks that promote clinical competency, quality assurance and continuous improvement.
- Provide senior clinical supervision, mentorship and professional support to experienced and advanced psychologists.
- Support and promote research, education and training initiatives, strengthening professional practice and capability across the psychology workforce.
Preferred Requirements
- Demonstrated clinical leadership experience in psychology service planning, development, and workforce management
- Extensive experience working with consumers presenting with high or complex needs in a mental health setting
- Strong skills in strategic consultation, clinical governance, quality improvement, and evidence-based practice
- Proven ability to communicate, negotiate, and collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams and senior stakeholders
- Experience developing and implementing supervision frameworks that support competency, quality assurance, and continuous improvement
Preferred Qualifications
- Psychology degree or equivalent qualification with general registration as a Clinical Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia

- Demonstrated expertise in clinical psychology practice and evidence-based therapeutic approaches
