Post Merger Integration Consultant

We are working with a Real Estate investment business to appoint a Post Merger Integration Consultant, based in Sydney. This is an initial 6 month contract with a strong view to extend, created following the group's work supporting the acquisition of an Australian operating business. The acquiring entity is a large, listed investment group with an established presence across Australian real estate markets. The acquisition represents a meaningful expansion of its local platform, and the business now needs an experienced integration professional to lead the planning phase, working closely with senior stakeholders across both organisations.

You will be responsible for building the integration plan from the ground up, covering people, process, systems and reporting, and for sequencing how and when different parts of the acquired business are brought onto the parent platform. You will work directly with senior leadership on both sides, identifying key dependencies, and translating a high level acquisition rationale into a workable, resourced plan.

Given the nature of the mandate,



you will need to move quickly to establish credibility with stakeholders who do not yet know you, while building a plan that can withstand scrutiny from both the acquiring group and the business being brought in. Expect early involvement in governance, reporting lines, systems and process alignment, and cultural integration, with the flexibility to shape the program as priorities become clearer.

We are open to candidates from outside real estate. What matters most is genuine experience running, or contributing meaningfully to, post merger integration or carve out programs, gained within consulting, corporate development, transaction services or an internal integration function. Real estate exposure will be useful but is not a prerequisite.

This role suits someone who has 7+ years experience and who works well in environments where no structure currently exists, rather than operating within an established process.
