What you'll be doing The Medical Physics Researcher will perform research and education in medical physics within the medical physics team of the Northern Sydney Cancer Centre. The role is to perform research towards the vision to create, share and apply scientific knowledge in radiation physics to improve human health. A strong ongoing commitment to securing competitive grant funding, performing practice changing research and developing research infrastructure is expected.

The position will support existing strong relationships with Schools of Physics and Medicine at University of Sydney. Perform research in medical physics, working diligently to develop innovative solutions to important medical problems in alignment with clinical goals. This position will focus on improving the state of the art image guidance systems for abdominal and genitourinary adaptive radiotherapy.

Participate in the development of multiple ongoing and future clinical trials (prostate tumour tracking, markerless tumour tracking , multi-target tumour tracking).

People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background are encouraged to apply.

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:

- Possess a degree in science from an approved University or a college of advanced education or such other qualifications deemed by the employer to be appropriate.
- Provide an example of your demonstrated track record with machine learning software development and how it applies to medical imaging.
- Discuss your project management skills.
- Do you have any experience working in Hospitals, with sensitive information or implementing new technology?
