The Company Our client is a well-established multidisciplinary engineering consultancy delivering engineering design and project delivery services across the mining, energy and industrial sectors.

With a strong pipeline of work and continued investment in its technical capability, the business is looking for an experienced Power Systems Engineer to lead and further develop its Power Systems team.

The Opportunity

As Power Systems Team Leader, you'll provide technical and people leadership across the team while remaining actively involved in power systems engineering, project delivery and client engagement.

This isn't a role where you'll move away from engineering altogether. You'll continue to bring your technical expertise to projects while taking greater responsibility for developing engineers, providing technical direction, improving how the team operates and supporting its continued growth.

The opportunity could suit an established Team Leader,



or an experienced Senior/Principal Power Systems Engineer who has naturally taken on mentoring and technical leadership responsibilities and is ready to step into formal people leadership.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead, mentor and develop a team of Power Systems Engineers.
- Provide technical leadership across power systems studies, modelling and analysis.
- Support the delivery and technical review of complex power systems engineering projects.
- Develop capability within the team through coaching, mentoring and knowledge sharing.
- Work closely with multidisciplinary engineering and project teams.
- Build strong relationships with clients and understand their technical and project requirements.
- Identify opportunities to support existing clients and contribute to the continued growth of the Power Systems capability.
- Drive continuous improvement across technical systems, processes and engineering delivery.
- Support workload planning, team performance and the ongoing development of the discipline.

About You You'll likely be someone who still enjoys the technical side of power systems engineering but is increasingly motivated by helping other engineers develop and succeed.

You'll bring

- Strong Power Systems engineering experience within a consultancy, EPCM or project delivery environment.




- Demonstrated experience across power systems studies and modelling.
- Experience with relevant power systems analysis and modelling software.
- The ability to technically review work and provide guidance to other engineers.
- A genuine interest in coaching, mentoring and developing people.
- Strong communication skills and confidence engaging with clients and multidisciplinary teams.
- Commercial awareness and an understanding of the consulting environment.
- Degree qualifications in Electrical Engineering, with RPEQ or the ability to obtain highly regarded.

Previous formal team leadership experience would be valuable, but isn't essential. We're equally interested in speaking with Senior or Principal Engineers who are already mentoring others and are ready to take the next step into people leadership. Why This Role?
