Practice Manager / Practice Projects Manager

Yeppoon Family Practice – Maternity Leave Contract with Potential to Extend Are you an experienced, organised, and people-focused leader who is looking to make a meaningful difference in a busy general practice and our local community?

Yeppoon Family Practice is seeking a capable Practice Manager to join our leadership team in a maternity leave cover role, with potential to extend.

The primary focus of this role will be to provide maternity leave cover for our Practice Manager position, supporting the day-to-day operations of Yeppoon Family Practice and helping ensure the practice continues to run smoothly for our doctors, staff, and patients.

In addition to the maternity leave cover, there may also be opportunities before, during, or after the leave period to contribute to practice improvement projects, systems development, workflow improvement, and practice growth initiatives. This makes the role well suited to someone who enjoys both operational leadership and project-based work.

You will be stepping into a meaningful leadership role within a well-established, values-driven practice, with the support of an experienced Business Manager and broader Practice Management team.

Experience in general practice or healthcare would be a strong advantage. However, we are also open to applicants from other industries who bring strong leadership, operational management, administration, project, or people management experience and are willing to learn the general practice environment.

About the Role

This is a 12 month maternity leave cover position with potential to extend beyond the initial contract for the right person. During the maternity leave period, the role will involve supporting the operational management of Yeppoon Family Practice, helping lead and support the administration team, maintaining strong daily workflows, and working closely with the Business Manager and Practice Management team.

Depending on the successful applicant’s skills, experience, and availability, the role may also include project leadership, process improvement, team support, systems development, and operational planning either before, during, or following the maternity leave cover period.

You will be part of a collaborative leadership structure and will be supported by the Business Manager, Directors, and existing Practice Management team. You will not be expected to know everything from day one, but you will need to bring strong initiative, sound judgement, professionalism, and a willingness to take ownership.
