What you'll do
As the Principal Briefing and Liaison Officer, you will lead and support the delivery of the divisional correspondence function by coordinating correspondence and records management systems, ensuring effective governance, streamlined workflows, and the timely management of high-quality correspondence. You will draft, coordinate and quality assure complex briefings, correspondence and advice for executives and government, working closely with stakeholders to ensure information is accurate, evidence-based and aligned with departmental priorities. In this role, you will drive continuous improvement initiatives, oversee reporting and governance activities, deliver training and capability-building programs, and coordinate audit and assurance processes to strengthen correspondence practices across the division.
You will also undertake time-critical special projects, provide strategic support to the Office of the Deputy Director-General, and build strong relationships across the department, Hospital and Health Services, and other stakeholders to achieve effective outcomes while contributing to a positive, ethical and outcome-focused workplace culture.
About you
We are searching for someone who has:
Demonstrated experience in using information technology systems to collect, analyse, interpret and report data, and to support effective correspondence and information management functions.
Highly-developed communication and stakeholder engagement skills, including the ability to consult and collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders, external organisations and professional groups. Strong written communication skills, particularly in preparing, reviewing and managing correspondence and related documentation.
Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment, including planning and coordination of correspondence workflows and related projects, meeting deadlines, and delivering high-quality outcomes.
Proven ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team, contributing to the delivery of correspondence functions and supporting a collaborative and professional working environment.
