Working within the Study Hub environment, you will provide day-to-day, student-facing support and help create a welcoming, inclusive and supportive environment for students.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing introductory academic and study support to students
- Assisting students with assignments, study strategies and organisational skills
- Supporting students to navigate university systems, processes and services
- Providing digital literacy assistance and support with online learning platforms and academic technologies
- Assisting students with online research tools and the ethical use of AI
- Supporting students who may be first in their family to attend university or unfamiliar with higher education
- Providing initial triage and referring students to appropriate wellbeing or specialist services when required
- Maintaining accurate student support records using spreadsheets or CRM systems
- Supporting workshops, information sessions and student engagement activities
- Assisting with promoting Study Hub activities and building student engagement
- Supporting networking and peer initiatives that foster a sense of community within the Study Hub
- Contributing to a welcoming and inclusive study environment that supports student success and wellbeing
- Working in accordance with relevant University policies, procedures, confidentiality requirements and higher education legislation
About You
We're looking for a confident and student-focused learning support professional who enjoys working directly with students and can provide practical guidance in a welcoming and inclusive environment.
adult learning or a similar environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with a diverse range of students
- Confidence providing introductory academic, study and organisational support
- Strong digital literacy and confidence navigating online learning platforms and university systems
- The ability to explain information clearly and support students who may be unfamiliar with higher education
- Strong judgement and the ability to recognise when students require referral to specialist or wellbeing services
- The ability to work independently and confidently in a student-facing environment
- Solid organisational skills and attention to detail
- A collaborative and inclusive approach to supporting students and contributing to Study Hub activities
- Previous experience in student support, learning support, academic support, higher education, adult learning or a closely related workplace
- Demonstrated ability to provide practical study, learning or digital support to students or learners
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Confidence working independently in a student-facing environment
- Strong digital literacy and ability to navigate online systems and platforms
- Availability to work on-site at the Broadmeadows and/or Epping Study Hubs
