With a solid pipeline of future projects, MDA are seeking experienced and commercially savvy Project Managers with raisebore experience to build and lead high performing teams, whilst responsible for developing annual operational plan for raisebore activities, ensuring alignment with business objectives, project pipelines, and long‑term growth plans. You will also be required to ensure all raisebore operations comply with SHE standards, critical control monitoring, and site‑specific safety requirements, whilst promoting a safety excellence, hazard awareness and continuous improvement across all raisebore crews and support teams
Please note: This role is based on 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off roster - Site based
Key Responsibilities
- Build and lead high‑performing raisebore teams grounded in trust, respect, collaboration, and operational discipline.
- Foster an environment that encourages innovation, problem‑solving, open communication, and shared success.
- Celebrate achievements and reinforce a culture of accountability, technical excellence, and continuous learning.
- Work with functional positive leaders to establish project‑specific budgets that ensure adequate resources for safe and efficient raiseboring operations.
- Ensure raisebore machines, rod handlers,
and support equipment are scheduled and utilised in line with the annual business plan and project commitments.
- Oversee equipment availability, reliability, and maintenance responsiveness to minimise downtime and maximise drilling productivity.
- Implement aligned processes for risk and opportunity management, including geotechnical risk, shaft breakthrough risk, and equipment‑related hazards.
- Ensure all procedures are reviewed, maintained up to date, communicated to staff, and consistently followed across maintenance and operational activities.
- Complete daily toolbox meetings with staff and ensure all shift and swing handovers are completed, documented, and communicated effectively.
- Ensure safety incidents, equipment damage, maintenance activities, and other operational events are accurately recorded, reported, and followed up in accordance with site and company requirements.
- Verify equipment pre-starts are completed and ensure self and all staff attend GSM pre-starts and relevant GSM meetings.
- Ensure all online applications are completed, accurate, and maintained up to date for all relevant maintenance and operational activities.
- Receipt incoming materials and deliveries, communicate orders to supply chain and procurement, and ensure consumption of spares and stock is recorded accurately.
- Complete daily planning and allocation of work and oversee or coordinate maintenance tasks to ensure safe, efficient, and timely execution.
- Ensure staff complete timesheets accurately and on time, and manage absenteeism, attendance, and workforce availability in line with operational requirements.
- Drive profitability and operational efficiency through improved use of technology, data, equipment performance analytics, and optimised drilling methodologies.
Essential Requirements
- Proven experience in Project Management within the raisebore industry.
- Experience managing site based teams and remote site operations.
- Demonstrated commercial acumen including budgeting, forecasting, and contract management.
- Robust leadership and stakeholder management capability.
- Excellent communication, reporting, and organisational skills.
- Current C Class Driver’s Licence.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and project reporting systems.

- Unrestricted rights to work in Australia
- Schedule 26 Supervisory Ticket (Essential)
- Ability to successfully complete Pre-Employment Medical including drug and alcohol
- Must be able to provide a valid National Police Clearance (less than 6months old)
