Phillip Riley are seeking a Protection & Commissioning Engineer to join a specialist engineering business based in Sydney.
The role will focus on the testing, commissioning and maintenance of HV, MV and LV electrical systems across a range of projects, including renewable energy, utilities and data centres.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform FAT and SAT of protection and control systems.
- Program, test and commission protection relays
- Test switchgear, transformers, CTs, VTs and circuit breakers.
- Undertake earthing, HV cable, insulation resistance and withstand testing.
- Support secondary system design reviews and switchgear commissioning.
- Coordinate outages and develop inspection and test plans.
- Manage on-site commissioning activities and ensure compliance with project specifications.
- Prepare detailed test reports, maintain test records and update as-built documentation.
About You
- A degree in Electrical Engineering or a relevant trade/technical qualification with industry experience.
- Demonstrated experience in HV/MV/LV protection, testing and commissioning.
- Strong knowledge of protection relay testing, programming and configuration.
- Experience using testing equipment such as Omicron CMC/CPC, Doble or ISA DRTS.
- Good understanding of switchgear, transformers, earthing systems and HV cable testing.
- The ability to work independently and safely on HV/LV sites.
- Strong technical reporting and communication skills.
- A current driver's licence and willingness to travel to client sites across Australia.
