Malvern Private Hospital is one of Australia’s leading addiction treatment facilities, with a robust track record of positive client outcomes. We are a 34-bed Addiction and Recovery Centre providing treatment within an abstinence-based model of care and incorporating principles and practices from the Minnesota Model.

About the Role

We are seeking highly skilled and motivated clinicians to join our innovative inpatient and outpatient programs on a permanent part-time basis. The successful applicants will have experience in individual counselling and group therapy and will bring an engaged, proactive and cooperative approach to their work.

At Malvern Private Hospital, clinicians work as part of a highly skilled multidisciplinary team comprising psychiatry, addiction specialists, psychodynamic GPs, general and mental health nurses, and an experienced therapy team.

The role involves facilitating and guiding clients to develop a greater understanding of developmental trauma, addiction, interpersonal dynamics and patterns of behaviour, while supporting them to establish and maintain a structured, recovery-focused treatment plan.

Clinicians contribute to the Malvern Model of Care, providing holistic and trauma-informed treatment while maintaining safe, respectful and clear communication across the therapeutic community and multidisciplinary team.

The position includes individual clinical work, case management, interpersonal process groups and the development and delivery of psychoeducational groups.

Skills and Experience

The successful applicant will demonstrate: · A tertiary qualification in Psychotherapy, Psychology, Art Therapy or Social Work, with current registration through AHPRA, PACFA or ACA. Minimum Masters qualification required

· A strong ethical framework incorporating respect, accountability,



sound clinical judgement and leadership in both client and team interactions.

· A strong understanding of psychotherapeutic principles and practice.

· Experience facilitating group therapy, particularly interpersonal and psychodynamic group process.

· Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team, including openness to giving and receiving feedback and the capacity to recognise and navigate interpersonal conflict.

· Experience working with developmental trauma, addiction and recovery models.

· The ability to manage a clinical caseload, provide individual therapeutic interventions and facilitate group therapy.

· The ability to develop and deliver high-quality psychoeducational groups.

· Experience with evidence-based and trauma-informed approaches. Experience with modalities such as IFS, DBT, mindfulness and anxiety-reduction strategies is highly regarded.

· A comprehensive understanding of alcohol and other drug addiction, together with knowledge of process addictions, including gambling and sex and love addiction, and their impact on partners, families and significant others.

· Strong clinical communication, documentation, risk-management and treatment-planning skills when working with vulnerable and complex clients.

· Working knowledge of the NSQHS Standards, National Standards for Mental Health Services, relevant legislative requirements and professional practice standards.

· The ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external health professionals.





· The capacity to work therapeutically and professionally with clients presenting with complex clinical and interpersonal needs.

· Availability to work at least one weekend day (Saturday or Sunday).
