PARC Engineering is on the lookout for an experienced QC Inspector.

The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring all works are completed safely, on schedule and to the required quality standards.

- Project Location:Northern Territory
- Point of Hire: Perth, Brisbane or Darwin
- Roster: 2&1 FIFO
- Hours: 12 Hour Days
- Project Duration: 12 months+ with potential for ongoing opportunities

Key Responsibilities:

- Monitor and oversee all welding activities to ensure compliance with approved Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), and relevant codes and standards (e.g., ASME, AS/NZS).
- Verify welder qualifications and ensure all personnel are appropriately certified for the scope of work being performed.
- Review and approve welding documentation, including WPS, Procedure Qualification Records (PQRs), and Welder Qualification Records (WQRs).
- Conduct in-process and final inspections of welds, including visual inspections and coordination of non-destructive testing (NDT).
- Liaise with NDT providers to ensure timely execution and reporting of testing (e.g., RT, UT, MT, PT).
- Monitor weld quality, identify defects or non-conformances, and ensure appropriate corrective actions are implemented.
- Maintain weld traceability systems, including material certification, heat numbers, and weld mapping.
- Review and verify material test certificates (MTCs) to ensure compliance with project specifications.
- Raise, track, and close out non-conformance reports (NCRs) and ensure effective root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Provide technical support and guidance to supervisors and trades personnel on welding quality requirements.




- Participate in internal and external audits, including client and third-party inspections.
- Maintain accurate QA/QC records and compile quality dossiers for handover documentation.
- Ensure all inspection and testing activities are conducted in accordance with site safety procedures and permit systems.
- Ensure compliance with project quality management systems and applicable industry standards.

Qualifications & Experience:

- Minimum of 5+ years' experience in a QA/QC role with a strong focus on welding in mining, oil & gas, or heavy construction projects.
- Trade qualification in Welding, Boilermaking or Mechanical discipline (preferred).
- Current valid driver's licence.
- Certification as a Welding Inspector (e.g., CSWIP 3.1, AWS CWI, or equivalent
- Robust knowledge of welding codes and standards (e.g., ASME Section IX, AS 1554, AS/NZS standards).
- Demonstrated experience with NDT methods and interpretation of results.
- Proven experience in weld traceability, inspection documentation and quality record management.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, isometrics and welding documentation.
- High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and QA/QC management systems.




- Certification as a coating inspector (NACE level 2) highly regarded
