About the Role

Master Drilling Australia continue to dominate the industry, and we are now in seek of experienced and committed Raise Bore Drillers to join our onsite team inititally in Western Australiabut with continuous tendering projects in the pipeline you may find yourself interstate or abroad.

Reporting into the Project Supervisor you will be committed to the safe operations of our raise bore fleet and equipment whilst committed to the high standards of respect and safety we have set for ourselves and each other.

Please note: This role is offered on a 2 week on and 2 weeks off, day/night shift roster and for the preferred candidate we will consider mobilisation from any Australian capital city.

Key Responsibilities

- Safe operations of MDG Raise Bore Rigs ensuring all safety and compliance requirements are consistently met
- Conduct daily rig, light Vehicle, Integrated Tool Carrier, Telehandler pre-starts are closed out in line with company policies and procedures
- Set up the site and prepare the Raise boring rig in accordance with MDA's standards and protocols.
- Locate collar and drill pilot hole following technical guidance, monitoring progress
- Assemble reamer underground and carry out reaming hook-up procedures
- Complete the reaming of the raise bore in line with all quality compliance documentation
- Assemble/disassemble the drill site efficiently and promptly
- Ability to perform basic pre-start maintenance and checks
- Carry out essential maintenance tasks under direct supervision if and when appropriate
- Lead daily pre-shift meetings with the on-site crew




- Carry out operator prestart maintenance and condition monitoring inspections
- Maintain housekeeping of drill site to company standards
- Maintain stock control daily to ensure stock levels are consistently met

About You

- Current experience on Atlas Copco models 71R, 72R, 73R, and 91R Drill Rigs – Advantageous
- Certificate III in Drilling Operations (RII31820) - Desirable - Willing to obtain
- RIIHAN311F – Conduct Operations with Integrated Tool Carrier - Desirable
- RIIWHS204 - Work at Heights ticket - Desirable
- RIIHAN309F - Conduct Operations with Telehandler - Desirable
- Valid C Class Manual Drivers’ Licence - Essential
- Heavy Rigid Licence (HR Licence) – Desirable
- HRWL - DG, RB - Desirable
- Crane Licence (CN) – Desirable
- Provide First Aid Certificate - HLTAID011, HLTAID006 - Essential
- Knowledge of and ability to implement secure working practices.
- Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse range of people.
- Basic Microsoft Office skills are desirable.

Additional Requirements

- Unrestricted rights to work in Australia
- Ability to successfully complete Pre-Employment Medical including drug and alcohol
- Must be able to provide a valid National Police Clearance (less than 6months old)
