Commercial Lawyer | 1–3 Years PAE | Adelaide/Sydney
Your People Solutions is partnering with a growing and highly regarded multidisciplinary law firm seeking a talented Commercial Lawyer with approximately 2–5 years’ PAE to join its expanding Commercial Law practice.
This is an excellent opportunity for a junior commercial lawyer who is looking for more than simply their next role. The firm is seeking someone who wants to develop their career for the long term, gain genuine client exposure and take on increasing responsibility within a supportive and collaborative environment.
The firm has built a strong reputation around trust, transparency, commerciality and genuine client relationships. The culture is professional yet down-to-earth, with senior lawyers committed to mentoring and developing their junior team members.
The Opportunity
Working closely with experienced senior lawyers and the Managing Partner, you will gain exposure to a broad range of corporate, commercial, transactional and advisory matters.
Importantly, this is not a role where you will be siloed into one narrow area. You will be encouraged to develop broad commercial capability, work directly with clients and understand the commercial drivers behind the advice you provide.
Your work will include:
- Drafting and reviewing a broad range of commercial and business agreements
- General corporate and commercial advisory work
- Business structuring and corporate governance matters
- Assisting with mergers and acquisitions
- Commercial and retail leasing
- Insolvency and business advisory matters
- Advising businesses on day-to-day commercial issues
- Attending client meetings and developing direct client relationships
- Working with a diverse portfolio of small to medium-sized businesses.
About You
Ideally,
you will have 2–5 years’ post-admission experience gained within private practice and a genuine interest in developing your career in corporate and commercial law.
You will possess strong drafting and analytical skills, excellent attention to detail and the confidence to communicate effectively with clients and colleagues.
The firm is particularly interested in someone who is proactive, commercially minded and eager to learn. You should enjoy taking ownership of your work while also recognising when to seek guidance from more senior practitioners.
You will need to be admitted in South Australia and have appropriate Australian working rights.
What makes this opportunity particularly attractive is the combination of quality commercial work, genuine responsibility and access to senior partners.
You can expect:
- Direct client exposure from an early stage
- Genuine responsibility and ownership of matters
- Broad transactional and advisory experience
- Exposure to M&A; and sophisticated commercial matters
- Direct access to senior lawyers and the Managing Partner
- Strong mentoring and professional development
- A collaborative and approachable team environment
- Increasing autonomy as your experience develops
