As Quarry Operations Supervisor, you will be the key on-ground person overseeing the daily operation of the quarry. This is a hands-on position suited to someone who enjoys being out on site, working alongside a small team and making sure the quarry runs safely, efficiently and productively. You will be responsible for coordinating the day-to-day activities of the quarry while also getting on the machines and assisting with production.
Key responsibilities
- Coordinating and supervising day-to-day quarry operations
- Leading and supporting the quarry and plant operating team
- Allocating daily tasks and ensuring production targets are met
- Operating mobile plant
- Overseeing crushing, screening, stockpiling and loading operations
- Monitoring production, product quality and stockpiles
- Coordinating truck movements and customer loading
- Conducting and overseeing daily pre-starts and site inspections
- Identifying equipment issues and coordinating maintenance requirements
- Ensuring site procedures, safety requirements and environmental standards are followed
About you
- Previous experience in quarrying, mining,
civil construction or earthmoving
- Experience operating heavy mobile plant
- Strong knowledge of quarry production and crushing/screening operations
- Previous supervisory or leading-hand experience
- The ability to confidently coordinate people, plant and production
- A strong understanding of workplace health and safety
- Good communication and organisational skills
- The ability to problem-solve and make decisions on the ground
- A current Australian driver's licence
