We're looking for compassionate and committed Recovery Support Workers to join our new Step-Up Step-Down Service in Karratha. If you're passionate about mental health, believe in people's strengths, and want to be part of something meaningful from the very beginning, we'd love to hear from you.

Description: Why this role matters The Karratha Step-Up Step-Down Service provides short-term residential support for people experiencing mental health challenges who would benefit from additional recovery-focused support in a safe, welcoming environment.

As a Recovery Support Worker, you'll provide practical and emotional support that helps people build independence, develop life skills, and work towards their recovery goals.

This is more than just a job. It's an opportunity to help people discover the courage they have to shape their own lives.

What you'll be doing

No two days are the same, but your work may include:

- Building genuine, respectful relationships with people accessing our service
- Supporting individuals to implement their recovery plans and work towards personal goals
- Assisting with daily living skills such as cooking, budgeting, transport, and community engagement
- Providing emotional support during times of distress
- Facilitating meaningful activities and opportunities for social connection
- Working collaboratively with families, carers, clinical services and community partners
- Maintaining accurate documentation and case notes
- Contributing to a safe, recovery-oriented and welcoming residential environment

Skills and Experiences: What you'll bring We're looking for people who:
- Are passionate about supporting people experiencing mental distress
- Have a strong understanding of recovery-oriented and trauma-informed practice
- Demonstrate empathy, resilience and excellent communication skills
- Thrive in a team setting while also working independently
- Can establish professional boundaries and build trust with diverse individuals
- Hold, or are willing to obtain, relevant compliance requirements including a National Police Clearance and Working with Children Check

Candidates with qualifications or experience in mental health, community services, disability support, peer support, social work, youth work, aged care, nursing or human services are encouraged to apply.
