This is a Fixed Term Full Time appointment until 30 June 2028, with the possibility of extension(s) and/or permanency.

About the Role

This is a rare opportunity to step into a senior, regionally influential role responsible for ensuring the performance, safety, and sustainability of WACHS facilities and major capital assets.

You will lead the coordination, implementation, and continuous improvement of policies, strategies, and governance frameworks that support best-practice facilities and asset management. With a robust focus on both preventative and reactive maintenance, you will play a critical role in maintaining high-quality healthcare environments across the region.

Acting as a recognised subject matter expert, you will provide strategic, high-level consultancy and advisory services on complex engineering and maintenance matters. You will work closely with the Regional Manager Infrastructure & Support Services, Maintenance and Facility Managers, and operational leaders to drive innovation, compliance, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Facilities Management & Leadership

- - Support and advise the Regional Manager Infrastructure & Support Services in ensuring compliance, performance, and accountability across all facilities.
- Oversee the delivery of efficient and effective maintenance services across regional healthcare sites.
- Lead the development, implementation, and monitoring of facilities management policies, strategies, and benchmarks.
- Provide leadership, mentoring, and direction to Maintenance and Facility Managers.
- Contribute to strategic and operational planning for infrastructure and asset management.
- Support the coordination of minor works,



special repairs, and major capital programs.
- Monitor budgets, resource allocation, and maintenance service performance.
- Ensure compliance with legislative, regulatory, and safety requirements, including building, fire, electrical, and asbestos standards.
- Drive risk management, audit response, and energy management initiatives.

Coordination, Projects & Consultancy

- - Act as Contract Manager for facilities and infrastructure-related contracts.
- Lead procurement processes, including tender development and evaluation.
- Manage engineering and maintenance contracts in line with policy and best practice.
- Deliver project management services for minor and major capital works projects.
- Provide expert advice on preventative and planned maintenance programs.
- Monitor maintenance performance and provide strategic reporting to senior stakeholders.
- Engage and negotiate effectively with contractors and stakeholders to ensure high-quality outcomes.

The Goldfields region of the WA Country Health Service covers the Goldfields-Esperance Region of Western Australia. The region is located in the south eastern corner of Western Australia and covers 770,488 sq km (including offshore islands). The WA Country Health Service Goldfields consists of two main health campuses located in Kalgoorlie & Esperance, and three smaller hospitals located in Laverton, Leonora, and Norseman.

The Goldfields is a culturally rich region with a number of Aboriginal communities spread out across the region, 16 distinct Aboriginal language groups and an Aboriginal population that represents 12.3 per cent of our total population, with 1 in 10 people, on average, identifying as Aboriginal – this in comparison to the state average of 3.6 per cent.
