Schema Therapy Institute Australia is a prestigious and progressive private psychology practice with locations across Victoria. We are looking for Registered Psychologists to join our Essendon and Carlton teams for a minimum of three days per week.

You do not need several years of post registration experience to apply. We welcome psychologists at different stages of their careers, provided you are fully registered with AHPRA, or will be fully registered before commencing work with STIA.

About the Saturday shift This position requires a minimum of three working days per week, with one of your regular working days being Saturday.

STIA is in high demand and we currently have very limited room availability at our Essendon and Carlton clinic. As a result, one of the available working days for this position must be Saturday.

Saturday appointments are also in high demand from clients and can provide a more consistent caseload,

Working Saturday also gives you the opportunity to have a regular weekday away from work, making appointments, errands, family commitments.

If you are unable to work Saturdays on an ongoing basis, please do not apply for this particular position.

About the role

You will provide individual psychological therapy to clients presenting with a broad range of mental health concerns.

Our practice has particular expertise in trauma informed care, Schema Therapy, personality pathology, and longer term therapeutic work, but you do not need to already be an expert in Schema Therapy to join us.

We are looking for clinicians who are thoughtful, curious,



grounded, cooperative, and committed to continuing to develop their clinical skills.

The role is based at our Essendon and Carlton clinic and requires at least three working days per week, including Saturday. Morning and afternoon working arrangements may be available, with the potential for some telehealth.

Key selection criteria

Essential

- Full registration as a psychologist with AHPRA before commencing work with STIA.
- Applicants who are imminently eligible for full registration are welcome to apply, provided registration will be completed before they commence work with STIA.
- A Medicare Provider Number, or eligibility to obtain one before commencing clinical work.
- Robust written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to provide individual psychological therapy and develop appropriate treatment plans.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and reflective practice.
- Availability to work at least three days per week, including Saturday.

Desirable but not essential

- Clinical endorsement.
- EMDR training.
- Schema Therapy training.
- Experience working with trauma, personality pathology, or other complex presentations.

Remuneration

Salary from $80,000 to $140,000 plus OTE per annum, calculated on a pro rata basis and dependent on clinical experience.

Our incentive structure provides clinicians with the opportunity to earn additional income based on their clinical activity while retaining the security and benefits of employment with STIA.
