Company Overview

We’re partnering with an established Australian engineering and manufacturing business specialising in advanced electrical and electronic products for industrial, infrastructure and other environments. The business is looking for an experienced Regulatory Compliance Lead (Product) to take ownership of product safety, certification and regulatory compliance across the organisation.

This is a senior technical role suited to someone with a robust background in electrical/electronic product compliance, certification and international regulatory frameworks, who can combine strategic oversight with hands-on technical involvement.

Key Responsibilities:

- Provide technical leadership across electrical safety, hazardous area certification and international regulatory requirements.
- Embed compliance requirements into product design and development, identifying and managing risks throughout the product lifecycle.
- Develop and oversee product safety, certification and regulatory strategies from concept through to global market release.
- Coordinate certification, testing and compliance activities with Engineering, Quality, suppliers, laboratories and certification bodies.
- Interpret relevant standards and regulatory changes,



translating requirements into practical product and design outcomes.
- Provide technical guidance on emerging technologies, including connected products, wireless systems and smart lighting.

About You

- Significant experience in product safety, certification, regulatory compliance or a similar technical discipline.
- Strong understanding of electrical safety standards and international certification frameworks.
- Experience working across product development, engineering or manufacturing environments.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence technical and cross-functional teams.
- Experience working with testing laboratories and certification bodies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex standards and regulatory requirements.

Nice to Have:

- Experience with IECEx, ATEX, UL, EMC or similar international certification and regulatory frameworks will be highly regarded.
- Exposure to connected products, wireless systems, smart lighting or other emerging technologies would also be advantageous.
