REMEDIAL ENGINEER

Mid-Level / Intermediate | Engineering Consultancy A leading engineering consultancy specializing in structural, remedial, and building diagnostic services is seeking an Intermediate Remedial Engineer to join an expanding team. Delivering practical, robust engineering solutions across residential strata, commercial, industrial, healthcare, and public sector projects, this firm offers direct involvement across the entire project lifecycle-from diagnostic testing to on-site construction oversight.

This role provides an ideal environment to expand technical design capabilities, project management expertise, and direct client relationship management while working alongside seasoned engineering specialists.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Diagnostic & Fieldwork: Conduct on-site condition assessments, investigations, and defect diagnoses across various building types.

- Reporting & Specification: Draft technical condition reports, engineering advice, repair methodologies, and comprehensive remedial scope specifications.

- Design & Documentation: Assist with structural assessments and prepare tender and construction documentation for repair works.

- Contract Administration: Act as superintendent during the construction phase, managing tender processes, contractor queries, variations, and technical submissions.

- Project Oversight: Perform construction phase inspections, attend site progress meetings,



and ensure contract compliance.

- Stakeholder Management: Maintain clear communication with strata managers, facility managers, property owners, head contractors, and external consultants.

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience: Minimum 2 years of practical experience within remedial, building diagnostics, or structural engineering.

- Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (or equivalent).

- Credentials: Professional engineering registration (e.g., RPEQ or Chartered status) and a valid Construction Induction White Card.

- Technical Skills: Strong grasp of building materials, diagnostic methods, and structural failure mechanisms, paired with solid technical writing ability.

- Soft Skills: Direct client-handling capability, strong problem-solving skills, high attention to detail, and productive multi-project task management.

- Licensing: Valid driver's licence.

DESIRABLE ATTRIBUTES

- Background in the strata/body corporate sector or existing building diagnostics.

- Expertise in concrete degradation, facade restoration, structural strengthening, or waterproofing systems.

- Experience utilizing structural design software (e.g., SPACE GASS, RAPT, Tedds).

- Prior contract administration experience during active construction phases.

- Working Safely at Heights certification.
