Are you a practical, hands-on safety professional who enjoys being out in the field, building relationships, and making a real impact?
We are partnering with a respected not-for-profit organisation to recruit a Safety Consultant for a six-month temporary assignment. This is an excellent opportunity to join a values-driven organisation dedicated to supporting the community while contributing to a safe and compliant workplace environment.
This role is focused on the operational delivery of safety initiatives rather than strategic advisory responsibilities. You'll play a key role in supporting day-to-day safety activities across the organisation, ensuring systems, processes, and compliance requirements are maintained to a high standard.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include conducting workplace safety inspections, assisting with incident investigations, facilitating safety training and inductions, completing risk assessments, maintaining safety registers and records, managing contractor compliance requirements, and preparing safety reports and documentation.
To be successful, you'll bring previous experience in Work Health and Safety, strong organisational skills, a proactive approach, and the ability to engage effectively with employees at all levels. You'll be someone who enjoys rolling up your sleeves, working collaboratively, and helping create a safe and positive work environment. To be successful in this role, you'll bring practical experience in Work Health & Safety and a passion for creating safe, healthy workplaces.
You will have demonstrated experience in a WHS and/or Injury Management position, supported by a sound understanding of the Work Health and Safety Act 2012 (SA), WHS Regulations, and contemporary safety practices.
You will be confident managing workplace incidents, conducting investigations, undertaking risk assessments, and supporting workers' compensation and injury management processes. Experience coordinating Return to work programs, facilitating safety training and inductions, and engaging with stakeholders across a diverse workforce will be highly regarded.
Strong organisational and administrative skills are essential, along with the ability to manage competing priorities and maintain accurate records and reporting. You will be an effective communicator who can work independently while building positive relationships across all levels of the organisation.
You will possess solid computer literacy, including experience using Learning Management Systems and electronic incident management platforms. Experience with Litmos and Donesafe will be viewed favourably. A current South Australian Driving Licence is required, as the role will involve occasional metropolitan and regional travel.
This is an immediate opportunity offering the chance to gain valuable experience within a highly regarded not-for-profit organisation while making a meaningful difference.
Please note this role if full-time and no working from home arrangements.
