Safety Manager | Tier 1 Organisation | Major Infrastructure Project

About the role:

Unify Recruitment are currently seeking an experienced Safety Manager to join a Tier 1 contractor on a major infrastructure program based in Sydney's Northern Beaches.

This is a long-term opportunity, working across a 2-year program of works on a significant project with a well-established Tier 1 contractor.

The successful candidate will take a key role in driving safety performance across the project, working closely with project leadership, engineering and site teams to ensure the highest standards of health, safety and environmental compliance are maintained.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead and manage the project's safety function across site operations.
- Provide strategic and operational safety advice to Project Managers, Engineers and site teams.
- Drive a strong proactive safety culture across the project.
- Conduct audits, inspections, risk assessments and safety reviews.
- Manage incident investigations, reporting and corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with WHS legislation, project requirements and company systems.
- Work closely with subcontractors and project stakeholders to ensure safety standards are consistently maintained.
- Deliver safety initiatives, training, toolbox talks and continuous improvement programs.




- Monitor project safety performance and provide regular reporting to senior management.

About You:

- Proven Safety Manager experience with a Tier 1 construction or infrastructure contractor.
- Experience working on major infrastructure projects.
- Ideally, previous experience working across Sydney Water projects, utilities, water or other major government infrastructure programs.
- Strong knowledge of Australian WHS legislation and safety management systems.
- Demonstrated experience managing safety across complex, high-risk construction environments.
- Robust communication and stakeholder management skills.
- The confidence to work closely with senior project leadership while maintaining a strong presence on site.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in WHS, Occupational Health & Safety or a related discipline.
