Are you a WHS professional looking for a meaningful part-time opportunity where you can make a genuine impact on employee wellbeing?
We are seeking an experienced Work Health & Safety Specialist to play a key role in strengthening and embedding an organisation's WHS framework. This is a position with a strong focus on psychosocial risk, wellbeing, trauma-informed practice and injury management.
Working as part of a collaborative People & Culture team, you will help implement existing WHS initiatives while driving continuous improvement across governance, compliance and employee wellbeing programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and embed WHS policies, procedures and frameworks following recent audit recommendations.
- Establish sustainable WHS governance processes, including reporting and review mechanisms.
- Continue to mature and enhance the organisation's WHS operating model.
- Support the implementation of wellbeing, psychosocial risk and trauma-informed initiatives.
- Develop and deliver WHS-related training and awareness programs.
- Monitor and evaluate psychosocial hazard action plans and wellbeing frameworks.
- Manage injury management and return-to-work programs.
- Coordinate rehabilitation activities,
early intervention strategies and workplace adjustments.
- Strengthen processes relating to workers' compensation, injury management and employee wellbeing.
- Partner with stakeholders across the organisation to promote a positive safety culture.
About You
- Demonstrated experience in a WHS-focused role within a government, public sector or highly regulated workplace.
- Strong understanding of psychosocial hazards, workplace wellbeing and trauma-informed practice.
- Experience implementing or enhancing WHS frameworks, governance structures and compliance processes.
- Sound knowledge of injury management, rehabilitation and return-to-work programs.
- Ability to build strong relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Comfortable working autonomously while collaborating effectively with a broader People & Culture team.
