We are seeking an experienced and motivated Team Leader to lead the delivery of an exciting scope of community-based programs and services on the Tiwi Islands. This role is open to people living in either Wurrumiyanga or the Greater Darwin area, or with an ability to relocate.

Murrup is a non-profit Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation that provides a range of programs in Wurrumiyanga including - but not limited to - boys and girls youth groups, a mobile laundry service, pop up hair salons, early childhood programs and community events.

In this full time role (open to 0.8FTE), you will be responsible for:

- Building robust relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families, community members and key stakeholders.

- Leading and supporting program delivery to achieve positive outcomes for children and families.

- Managing, mentoring and developing staff.

- Overseeing budgeting, reporting, evaluation and continuous improvement activities.

- Ensuring quality, safety and compliance requirements are met.

About You
You will have:





- Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families and communities. Previous experience working with Tiwi families is highly regarded.

- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, including the ability to work with people from a wide range of backgrounds.

- Knowledge of the factors affecting educational, health and wellbeing outcomes for children.

- Experience in project management , budgeting and evaluation.

- Confidence with Microsoft Office and general computer skills.

- A current Ochre Card (or ability to obtain one).

- Willingness to undergo and successfully complete a National Police Check.

- A current Driver's Licence.

- If not living on the island, willingness to travel regularly to Wurrumiyanga including multiple overnight stays.

Desirable

- Experience in education or early childhood services.

- Previous leadership experience managing and developing teams.
