SECURITY TECHNICIAN WANTED

Managed Solutions is an Ipswich-based Technology Company with over 50 staff - and we provide a wide range of services, including electrical, voice, data, and security cabling and systems.

Our core business is based in Ipswich, with our focus on small business and commercial customers primarily from Toowoomba to the Gold Coast and Brisbane city.

Our Comms, Data, Security & Electrical team offers a breadth of business services – including:

- Voice systems, services and support,

- Data and fibre cabling,

- Security and Access systems, installs, and service

- CCTV

- Intercom systems,

- WiFi and wireless, and

- Electrical Contracting

Our head office is based in Ipswich, with an office also in Brisbane. We supply and service clients mostly across Ipswich, Brisbane and the Gold Coast. With 50 staff, we are well placed to meet the current market demands and grow into the future.

We continue to grow our team and are looking for another experienced person to join us.

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

The ideal person must have an interest in security and technology, and must be practical and keen for a hands-on approach to work.

You should be clean, well-presented, and able to communicate and speak clearly.

Our relationship with our customers is based on our customer service focus, and we build strong relationships with customers and each other.

We expect you to be proud of the work you produce, you are clean and tidy on the job, and have a problem-solving attitude to your work.

You will be comfortable using computers and tablet devices – our systems are all online,



and many of the technologies that you will help install are computer-related. You will be expected to be able to record your time and materials through our job management software.

You are energetic, safety-focused, and have a happy and positive attitude.

We view this as a permanent full-time position.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

In addition to your normal work function, you would be required to keep tools, workshop spaces, and vehicles in good order.

The working days are Monday-Friday. You may be required to work slightly longer days on occasion to get the job done, with time off in lieu (TOIL) or penalty rates for any overtime.

We very rarely do weekend work, but occasionally it may be necessary.

We are looking for someone centrally located between Brisbane and the Gold Coast, and we would expect you to have the following experience or, if not all of it, be keen to learn:

- Install, commissioning, and maintenance of CCTV, Alarm & Access Control Systems.

- Install, commissioning and maintenance of Intercom Systems

- Assist our infrastructure team with the installation of structured data and security cabling when required

- Understand basic network configuration

- Understand how to fault-find and have the appropriate tools to assist with your job

To be successful, you will have the ability to work unsupervised and under pressure while delivering a high standard of service.

We need you to be able to communicate with both your team and the client to ensure the successful outcome of your projects.

Minimum Certification or License Requirements

- Current QLD Security Provider - Class 2 Individual Licence

- Current Open Cable Registration with Structured Cabling Endorsement, or be prepared to get registered





- Drivers Licence

We will expect you to undertake the following if you do not already have them:
- White Card

- Blue Card

- Working at Heights

- EWP Under 11m

Experience

It would be great if you had experience with some of the systems - we use:

- VMS and IP Recorders - Milestone, NX Witness, Axis, Avigilon, Hikvision, Dahua, Hanwha and UNV

- Alarm/Access Control - Integriti, Inception, Concept, ICT Protege, Bosch, Paradox, DSX, NESS and various other brands

- Intercoms - Aiphone, BPT and Hikvision

KEY INFORMATION

You must already be in South-East Qld or planning to move here.

You must hold a current Australian driver's license and be an Australian citizen. You must speak English fluently with the ability to clearly articulate yourself to your peers and to clients.
