Inter Industrial Services is seeking an experienced Extrusion Operator - Blown Film to join a leading packaging manufacturer. This is a full-time position based in Dandenong South. You will work a 4 x 12 hour shift pattern, rotating between day shift and night shift, every 4 weeks.
Key responsibilities
- Operate blown film extrusion machinery, including setting up equipment, adjusting parameters, and monitoring production runs
- Monitor production equipment and process parameters to ensure products meet specifications and quality standards
- Perform routine maintenance, cleaning and troubleshooting of extrusion equipment to minimise downtime
- Inspect finished products for defects and quality issues, documenting findings and reporting discrepancies
- Maintain accurate production records, logs and documentation as required
- Follow all health and safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment
- Work collaboratively with team members and supervisors to meet daily and weekly production targets
- Support the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce waste
- Perform changeovers between different product specifications and materials as directed
What we're looking for
- Proven experience as an Extrusion Operator or similar machine operator role within the manufacturing sector
- Strong understanding of blown film extrusion processes,
equipment operation and troubleshooting
- Ability to read and interpret technical specifications, work instructions and production schedules
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to maintaining quality standards
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment and adhere to health and safety regulations
- Good communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with colleagues
- Reliability, punctuality and a strong work ethic
- Flexibility to work a rotating shift pattern
- Experience with plastic film production or polymer processing is advantageous
