6-Month Contract | NSW Government | $900-$1,100 per day + Super An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Senior Advisor - Governance & Information Management to join a respected NSW Government organisation on an initial 6-month contract , with potential for extension.
This is a senior-level advisory role suited to a governance, privacy, records management or compliance professional who thrives in a fast-paced setting and can quickly establish credibility with stakeholders. You will play a key role in supporting governance uplift initiatives while providing expert advice across information management, privacy and compliance matters.
Your New Role
Reporting into a high-performing governance function, you will provide practical advice and support across a broad range of governance and information management activities. You will work closely with operational and project teams to strengthen governance practices, drive improvement initiatives and ensure legislative and regulatory requirements are effectively embedded across the organisation.
Key responsibilities include
- Providing expert advice across privacy, information governance, records management and compliance matters
- Assessing and managing privacy incidents and information-related risks
- Supporting the delivery of an existing governance capability uplift program
- Developing governance frameworks, templates, guidance materials and communications
- Maintaining governance registers, records and compliance tracking tools
- Partnering with business stakeholders to embed governance and information management requirements
- Preparing reports, briefings and recommendations for executive stakeholders
- Contributing to information management strategy and continuous improvement initiatives
- Identifying governance risks and recommending practical, business-focused solutions
What You'll Need to Succeed To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Demonstrated experience within governance, privacy, information management, records management and/or compliance
- Strong understanding of relevant legislation, policy and regulatory obligations
- Experience developing or enhancing governance frameworks, policies, processes and guidance materials
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and advisory skills
- Proven ability to manage competing priorities and deliver outcomes within tight timeframes
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and risk assessment capabilities
- High-quality written communication skills, including experience preparing executive reports and briefings
- Previous NSW Government or broader public sector experience will be highly regarded
