At Jacobs, we're challenging today to reinvent tomorrow. As demand grows across the transport and resources sectors, we're expanding our Rail team in Perth and are looking for a Senior Associate Rail Engineer to help drive the next chapter of our growth in Western Australia.
This is a senior role for a rail professional with strong technical leadership and established network and experience in Western Australia to help shape and grow Jacobs’ rail business in the mining and government transport sectors. You'll play a key role in growing our rail presence, developing new opportunities and delivering high-value outcomes for clients across Western Australia and the broader ANZ region.
What You'll Do
You'll combine rail technical expertise to lead projects with business development and market leadership experience to identify emerging client needs, creating opportunities and converting relationships into sustainable growth.
Key responsibilities include
- Building and strengthening relationships with mining and transport clients while identifying emerging opportunities and market trends.
- Leading and supporting pursuits, proposals and work-winning activities in partnership with client account, sales and technical leadership teams
- Providing technical leadership across multidisciplinary rail projects, ensuring safe, high-quality and commercially successful delivery.
- Leading project delivery, design and project management activities across a diverse portfolio of rail infrastructure projects
- Leveraging Jacobs' global technical network and Global Integrated Delivery (GID) teams to deliver best-in-class solutions for clients
- Mentoring and developing rail professionals while contributing to the growth of Jacobs' rail capability across Western Australia and Australia & New Zealand.
Experience across mining sustaining capital programs, decarbonisation initiatives, rail studies, depots, stabling facilities or marshalling yards will be highly regarded. This chance offers a rare combination of technical leadership, client engagement and market influence. Here's what you'll need
- Significant experience within the rail industry, including senior leadership responsibilities across engineering, design and project delivery, ideally in Western Australia.
- Well established client networks within Western Australia across the mining sector and government transport agencies
- Demonstrated experience in developing trusted client relationships and converting opportunities into project outcomes
- Proven capability in business development, client engagement and strategic growth initiatives
- Demonstrated experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams and complex infrastructure projects
- Expertise in rail design and engineering practices, including track design, track structure analysis, rail renewals and asset maintenance considerations.
