Head Specialty Coffee Barista – Full-TimeThe Role

As our Head Barista, you’ll take the lead behind the coffee bar and help set the standard for quality, consistency and service across the team.

Your responsibilities will include

- Quality Control: Ensuring every coffee leaving the bar meets Toby’s Estate extraction recipes, standards and flavour profiles.
- Dialling In: Confidently dialling in espresso throughout the day and maintaining consistency as conditions change.
- Filter & Batch Brew: Preparing and managing filter and batch brew offerings to a high specialty-coffee standard.
- Latte Art: Producing consistent, high-quality latte art for dine-in beverages.
- Workflow Management: Leading the coffee-bar workflow and helping organise the team to deliver rapid, efficient and consistent service during busy periods.
- Equipment Care: Managing daily cleaning, maintenance and minor troubleshooting of our La Marzocco Linea Classic S, Mahlkönig E80S grinders, Puqpress M5, EK43S and Marco BRU F60M Batch Brewer.
- Stock Management & Ordering: Managing weekly coffee and beverage-related orders, including beans, packaging, syrups, powders and other coffee-bar supplies.
- Menu Development: Working with us to explore, create and introduce new signature coffees and beverages.
- Customer Experience: Building genuine relationships with customers and helping create the warm, welcoming service Noor wants to be known for.

What We’re Looking For We’re looking for someone with approximately 2–3+ years of experience working as a specialty coffee barista, ideally with previous experience taking responsibility for a coffee bar or helping lead a team.

You should be confident with espresso extraction,



grinder calibration, milk texturing, latte art and filter coffee, while also understanding the importance of speed and consistency in a busy café environment.

Most importantly, we want someone who genuinely enjoys hospitality. You should be approachable, confident communicating with customers, reliable, organised and able to stay positive under pressure.

We’d especially love someone who is creative and excited about experimenting with new drinks rather than simply following an existing menu.

You’ll have the freedom to help create signature drinks, lead and develop the barista team, work closely with Toby’s Estate specialty coffee, use high-quality commercial equipment and build relationships with people throughout the specialty coffee industry.

Remuneration

Competitive full-time salary package based on experience, plus superannuation and all applicable full-time leave entitlements.
