Knoward Business Solutions is looking for an experienced Senior Bookkeeper to join its growing team.

This is a great opportunity for someone who is technically robust and confident managing their own clients, but who also enjoys problem solving, supporting others and taking ownership of getting things done.

You'll manage a small portfolio of more complex clients while also helping oversee and support the wider bookkeeping team, including reviewing work, managing priorities and making sure the team has the information they need to keep client work moving.

We're looking for someone who doesn't need to wait to be told what to do next. You'll be proactive, organised, comfortable making decisions and confident communicating directly with clients to solve problems and get the information you need.

What you'll be doing

Your role will include

- Managing your own portfolio of some complex bookkeeping clients from end to end
- Building strong relationships and acting as a key point of contact for clients
- Completing and reviewing bookkeeping, reconciliations, payroll and month-end requirements
- Reviewing work completed by other members of the bookkeeping team
- Reviewing and assisting with BAS, IAS, STP Finalisation, TPAR and other compliance requirements
- Supporting and providing guidance to the bookkeeping team, including offshore team members
- Helping manage workloads, priorities and deadlines to keep client work moving
- Proactively following up clients for outstanding information and documentation
- Troubleshooting more complex bookkeeping and compliance issues
- Identifying problems early and taking ownership through to resolution
- Working closely with the Director when matters require escalation
- Contributing ideas to improve processes,



systems and the way the team works

About you You'll already be an experienced Bookkeeper with strong Australian bookkeeping knowledge and the confidence to work across multiple client businesses.

Ideally, you'll bring:

- 5+ years' bookkeeping experience, with experience in an Australian bookkeeping or accounting practice highly regarded
- Strong Xero experience
- Sound knowledge of BAS, IAS, GST, payroll and Australian bookkeeping compliance
- Experience managing multiple client files and competing deadlines
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Confidence communicating directly with clients
- The ability to ask the right questions and follow up the information you need
- Experience reviewing or supporting the work of other bookkeepers would be highly regarded
- Excellent organisation and time management skills
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach to your work

Our clients are busy business owners and the information you need won't always arrive perfectly packaged. You'll be comfortable picking up the phone, asking the right questions, following things through and finding solutions that keep the work moving.

Knoward Business Solutions is a 100% Xero cloud practice supporting a diverse portfolio of Australian businesses, with a strong client base across trades and construction as well as businesses from a range of other industries.

We're a growing business with a small remote team and a strong focus on providing clients with accurate, reliable and proactive bookkeeping support.

This role has been created to add further senior capability to the team and will work closely with the Director and existing bookkeeping team.

While you'll initially focus on your client portfolio and supporting the day-to-day bookkeeping operation, there is genuine opportunity for your responsibilities to grow as Knoward continues to grow.
