We're recruiting for a Senior Business Analyst (EL1-equivalent) to join a federal government program of work work spanning requirements elicitation, solution assessment, and enterprise analysis.

Hybrid | Sydney or Melbourne

Contract: 8-month initial term + 6-month extension option

MUST be Australian Citizen

About the role

You'll take ownership of the full analysis lifecycle — from high-level business requirements through to functional and non-functional specification, solution validation, and UAT support. You'll work closely with business SMEs, IT teams, and executive stakeholders, translating complex business needs into clear, actionable documentation, while also mentoring junior BAs within the team.

Key responsibilities

- Specify business, functional and non-functional requirements in formats suited to diverse stakeholders (BRDs and/or Agile user stories)
- Lead workshops and stakeholder discussions to uncover underlying business needs
- Develop UI designs aligned with UCD principles and Australian Government accessibility standards




- Build as-is/to-be process maps
- Support testing preparation and execution, and UAT/system implementation including training materials
- Provide leadership and guidance to junior BAs
- Quickly grasp organisational structure and strategy to inform delivery priorities

What you'll bring

- Senior-level BA experience (EL1-equivalent) ideally within government or large enterprise settings
- Solid requirements documentation, process mapping, and stakeholder engagement skills
- UX/UI design exposure and awareness of accessibility standards
- Testing and UAT coordination experience
- Ability to lead and mentor junior analysts
- Eligibility to obtain Baseline security clearance
