Overview / Responsibilities
Wood is currently recruiting for a Civil Engineer on a 12 months contract or fixed term basis to join our team in Brisbane.
Reporting to the Discipline Lead Engineer, the successful applicant will be part of a busy project team delivering projects for our clients in the oil & gas, water and renewables industries.
Responsibilities
- Provide detailed engineering input to all design phases, including interpretation and challenge of standards
- Support design/drawing office personnel with engineering input
- Participate in the development of P&ID;'s, package specifications, construction work packs, project schedules and planning.
- Prepare requisitions and technical evaluation of bids for discipline material and equipment procurement.
- Prepares bid clarification questions and handles responses, and coordinates / chairs technical aspects of bid clarification meetings.
- Assist in reviewing of design packages to ensure the relevant safety, environmental and ergonomic standards are met
- Coordination with allied disciplines in preparation and development of deliverables.
- Provide practical engineering support to the construction/commissioning phases of projects
- Takes responsibility for study, design, specification and services related to the engineering discipline
Qualifications
- Must be degree qualified
- RPEQ is a preferred
- Previous experience on the Coal Seam Gas projects
- Knowledge of applicable codes and standards (AS, ASME, ASTM, ANSI, API, etc.)
- Must have experience leading small to medium sized Mechanical / Piping engineering design teams
- Must have experience working with high value engineering centres and in an engineering consultant environment
