Job Title: Senior Electrical Engineer – Power Projects

Location: Cooma, NSW

Experience: 10+ years

Roster: 5 days on / 2 days off (5/2)

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead the detailed design and engineering of Balance of Plant (BoP) electrical systems for major hydropower and infrastructure projects.
- Develop electrical engineering packages, including SLDs, cable sizing, protection settings, technical specifications, and interface documentation.
- Coordinate with sub-suppliers, external engineering offices, procurement, installation, and commissioning teams to resolve technical requirements.
- Provide in office engineering support, including inspections, technical queries, NCR resolution, commissioning support, and design compliance.
- Review and approve critical technical and commissioning documents and ensure accurate As-Built documentation reflecting field changes.

Skills Required:





- Degree in Electrical or Power Engineering with 10+ years’ experience in power plants, heavy infrastructure, switchgear, or hydropower projects.
- Strong knowledge of LV/MV/HV switchgear, transformers, generator feeders, DC systems, grounding, lightning protection, and auxiliary power systems.
- Deep understanding of Australian Standards (AS/NZS) and experience with NER registration through Engineers Australia.
- Proficiency in CAE/CAD tools such as AutoCAD/Engineering Base, ETAP, 3D design workflows, and Revizto.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, technical problem-solving, and ability to work effectively in international project teams.
