Senior Electrician – Help Build a Premium Renewable Energy Business Sydney (Northern Beaches / North Shore focus)

Senior Electrician looking to step into a broader leadership role? Windpower & Solar Australia is a growing residential solar and battery business seeking an experienced licensed electrician to help build a premium renewable energy business. You'll work directly with the owner across technical leadership, operations and business improvement, while also acting as our Nominated Qualified Supervisor (NQS).

This role is ideal for someone who wants to stay hands-on where it matters, while spending more time using their experience to solve problems, improve systems and help grow a business.

The Opportunity

You'll become a key member of a growing business, working directly with the owner to shape how installations are delivered, improve technical standards and help build the next stage of Windpower & Solar Australia's growth. Initially, you'll provide technical leadership across our installation network while contributing to operational improvements, business development and strategic decisions. As the business grows, there will be genuine scope to take on increasing responsibility in technical leadership, operations and management, with the role evolving around the strengths and interests of the right person.

Importantly, this is not a role where you're expected to directly supervise every installation or spend every day on the tools. Our installation partners have their own licensed electricians and supervision in place. Your role is to provide a second layer of technical oversight while helping build a scalable, high-quality business.

What You’ll Be Doing

Technical Leadership

- Providing technical leadership across our installation partners
- Reviewing system designs, installation approaches and complex technical issues




- Conducting selective site inspections and quality audits
- Providing technical guidance and helping resolve challenging installation issues
- Acting as the business's Nominated Qualified Supervisor (NQS)

Operations & Business Growth

- Working directly with the owner to help build and grow the business
- Improving operational systems, workflows and customer experience
- Coordinating installers, equipment procurement and project delivery
- Helping source, evaluate and build long-term relationships with installation partners
- Contributing to business development initiatives and identifying opportunities for improvement

Customer & Sales Support

- Assisting with technical quoting and solution design
- Meeting with customers where technical expertise adds value
- Supporting the development of new products, services and customer offerings
- Helping convert technically complex opportunities into successful projects

Practical Involvement

- Carrying out occasional electrical work including EV chargers, switchboard upgrades, battery relocations and rectification work
- Supporting system design and optimisation
- Getting involved wherever your experience can make the biggest difference

About You

- NSW Electrical Licence
- Eligible to act as NQS (Contractor Licence or Qualified Supervisor Certificate)
- Strong residential electrical experience

- Good judgement and attention to detail
- Comfortable working independently
- Enjoys problem-solving and improving standards
- Solar experience is advantageous but not essential.

We are happy to train the right person with strong residential electrical experience and a genuine interest in renewable energy.

Hours & Structure

- Permanent part-time role
- Initially around one day per week, with flexibility to increase over time as the role grows.
- Consistent weekly involvement
- Flexible scheduling with some site visits

We're deliberately starting small because we want the right person, and there's room to build something.

Location

This role is intended for electricians based on Sydney's Northern Beaches, North Shore or nearby areas.

Regular local site visits are part of the role, so applicants living a significant distance away are not suitable.

Compensation

- $60–$100+/hour (inclusive of superannuation)

- Rate depends on experience and ability to take on NQS responsibilities
