The Opportunity As Senior Environmental Advisor, you will provide strategic and practical environmental approvals support to MinRes’ Iron Ore Operations in the West Pilbara.

You will be responsible for planning and delivering environmental approvals programmes that support the protected, compliant and timely development of operational projects. This includes managing approvals pathways, coordinating environmental studies and surveys, preparing approval documentation, and ensuring environmental risks are identified and appropriately managed.

This role will suit a confident environmental professional with strong experience in the WA mining sector who can balance technical detail with project delivery requirements, build trusted stakeholder relationships and take ownership of complex approvals work.

Key responsibilities

- Lead environmental impact assessments and approvals for West Pilbara operational and expansion projects.
- Develop approvals strategies, execution plans and delivery schedules aligned to project milestones and regulatory timeframes.
- Prepare and review the approvals processes under the Mining Act, Parts IV and V of Western Australian environmental legislation, and the Commonwealth Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 (EPBC Act), where required.
- Coordinate biological surveys, environmental studies and technical assessments required to support approvals.
- Manage environmental consultants, including scope, budget, schedule,



quality and delivery of technical outputs.
- Provide practical environmental and approvals advice to project teams, leaders and key stakeholders.
- Ensure approval documentation aligns with relevant policy, legislation and guidance from the EPA, DWER, DMIRS and the Commonwealth Government.

What you will bring

- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience in environmental approvals, environmental consulting, operations or environmental impact assessment within the mining or resources sector.
- Strong working knowledge of Western Australian and Commonwealth environmental legislation, policy, standards and approval pathways.
- Experience coordinating environmental studies, biological surveys and consultant-delivered technical work.
- Proven ability to prepare, review and deliver high-quality environmental approval documentation.
- The ability to provide clear, strategic and practical environmental advice to stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities, schedules, budgets and delivery risks in a fast-paced environment.
