About the role

You will be responsible for managing geotechnical projects from investigation through to reporting and client delivery. This role would suit an engineer who has developed a solid technical foundation and is now looking to take greater ownership of projects, work directly with clients and continue progressing toward a senior/principal level career.

Key responsibilities

- Planning and managing geotechnical investigations

- Reviewing borehole, DCP, SPT, laboratory and other investigation data

- Preparing and reviewing geotechnical reports

- Providing foundation, excavation, retaining wall and earthworks advice

- Managing project budgets, timeframes and deliverables

- Coordinating field engineers, drillers and subcontractors

- Liaising directly with clients, builders, consultants and other stakeholders

- Attending sites where required to assess geotechnical conditions

- Identifying when more complex technical issues require escalation

- Assisting and mentoring junior engineers.

About you





- Approximately 5–8 years geotechnical consulting experience
- A degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering or equivalent

- Strong practical understanding of geotechnical site investigations

- Experience preparing geotechnical reports and recommendations

- Good understanding of soil and rock behaviour

- Experience managing multiple projects concurrently

- Strong written and verbal communication skills

- Confidence communicating directly with clients

- Positive judgement and the ability to work independently
- A current Australian driver's licence
