Senior Legal Counsel | Infrastructure | Australia

Our client is a diversified provider of critical infrastructure and essential services. With a strong reputation built on technical excellence and long-term client relationships, they are now looking to strengthen their in-house legal team.

The Opportunity

This role sits at the centre of a high-volume, high-value commercial legal function. You will provide hands-on legal support across contracts, tenders, and dispute resolution, working closely with project and operational teams on some of the sector's most complex engineering, infrastructure, and manufacturing contracts.

This is a genuine prospect to influence how legal risk is managed across a large and technically diverse project portfolio, while working alongside a senior and highly regarded legal leadership team.

Key Responsibilities

- Negotiate, draft, and settle a broad range of contracts, from major engineering and infrastructure projects to smaller operations, maintenance, and construction agreements, as well as leases and joint venture arrangements
- Lead and support tender, contract, and dispute resolution negotiations with customers and suppliers




- Review non-standard terms and conditions and report on legal risk across tenders
- Support project and contract managers with contract administration frameworks
- Manage and advise on dispute resolution matters
- Provide training and legal guidance to operational teams
- Manage external legal providers to ensure quality and value
- Advise on corporate governance obligations and compliance

About You

- Qualified legal practitioner in an Australian jurisdiction, with 5-10 years' PQE
- Strong background in engineering, infrastructure, or construction contracts, including operations and maintenance agreements
- Solid commercial understanding of the contract lifecycle, from tender through to delivery
- Confident advising both legal and non-legal stakeholders in a fast-paced, project-driven environment
