About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Structural Design Engineer to join our team in Perth, Newcastle, Melbourne, Gladstone, Adelaide, or Sydney. This role is ideal for an ambitious engineer looking to make a significant impact on challenging, innovative tier-1 civil and mining infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead structural design and inspection projects with a focus on safety, efficiency, and compliance for Tier 1 civil and mining infrastructure clients.
- Oversee and produce engineering deliverables for new and remedial projects, including design calculations in accordance with Australian Standards (AS4100, AS3600, AS1170).
- Prepare technical documentation, including drawings, specifications, design assessments, and reports.
- Perform site-based assessments and inspections to monitor structural integrity and guide maintenance strategies.
- Utilise structural software (Space Gass, Strand7, Tekla) to perform complex analysis and structural modelling.
- Lead construction-phase activities, including site visits, stakeholder collaboration, and technical support.
- Mentor junior and intermediate engineers, fostering technical growth and team knowledge-sharing.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Structural or Civil Engineering.
- Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status required (or RPEQ/CPEng equivalent).
- 8–10 years of structural engineering design experience.
- Hands-on site experience directly engaging with contractors and clients.
- Proven experience on Tier 1 mining, ports, or major infrastructure projects.
- Advanced knowledge of Australian Standards (AS4100, AS3600, AS1170, AS5100).
- Proficiency in Space Gass, Strand7 FEA, or similar structural analysis software.
- Experience with fatigue assessments, end-of-life evaluations, and structural remediation (highly desirable).
- Strong project management skills with the ability to lead multidisciplinary teams.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
