About the Role

St Peters Lutheran College is seeking a dedicated and experienced Careers Counsellor to join our Secondary Years team. You will play a key role in guiding students as they explore future study, training and career opportunities through a holistic and evidence-based career development program.

Offering the flexibility of a two-day-per-week, term-time schedule, this role is ideal for an experienced education or careers professional looking to balance professional contribution with other commitments. You will build meaningful relationships with students and families, develop cutting-edge career education programs, and connect learners with tertiary, industry and employment pathways that support their future success.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop, implement and evaluate contemporary career education programs aligned to the Australian Blueprint for Career Development.
- Provide individual and group careers counselling services that support informed pathway and post-school decision-making.
- Guide students and families through tertiary, vocational training, scholarship and international application processes.
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with universities, industry,



employers and external organisations to enhance student opportunities.
- Lead the development and management of current career resources, information services and Careers Centre programs.
- Monitor emerging education, employment and labour market trends and communicate relevant insights to students, families and staff.

What You Bring

- Current Queensland College of Teachers (QCT) registration.
- Qualifications in Career Counselling and professional membership of a Career Industry Council of Australia affiliated organisation.
- Demonstrated experience developing and delivering inclusive career education programs for secondary students.
- Comprehensive knowledge of senior secondary, tertiary and vocational education pathways, including QCAA, IB, VET and university entry requirements.
- Strong relationship-building skills with students, staff, parents, tertiary providers, industry representatives and external stakeholders.
- Commitment to ongoing professional learning and maintaining current knowledge of career development trends and labour market information.
- Commitment to the College's Christian ethos and values.

St Peters Lutheran College (Indooroopilly) is a P-12 coeducational day and boarding college of 2,250 students. The Lower Primary with Years Prep–4 has three classes at each level. The Upper Primary provides a program tailored to meet the needs of students in Years 5–6. St Peters Junior High offers Years 7-9 students a program to support young adolescents. The Senior School provides a program for Years 10–12 with the International Baccalaureate Diploma offered alongside VET and QSA courses.
