About the role

Aitken Legal is seeking an experienced Associate or Senior Associate Employment Lawyer to join our thriving Employment Law firm. This is a full-time or part-time role based in our Sunshine Coast office in Birtinya.

What you will be doing

- Providing expert legal advice and strategic guidance to employers on the full spectrum of employment law matters, including employee entitlements; performance management; termination and dismissal; managing injured employees; discrimination, harassment and bullying; restructures and redundancies; workplace health and safety and more - under the guidance of our exceptional senior lawyers

- Representing employers in the Fair Work Commission, Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia, Federal Court of Australia and other Federal and State tribunals and courts on employment-related disputes and litigation

- Drafting and negotiating employment contracts, enterprise agreements, workplace policies and other employment-related documentation

- Undertaking workplace investigations and drafting reports

- Working with a supportive and collaborative team

What we're looking for

- 3+ years of post-admission experience in employment law in Australia advising employers, ideally gained within a law firm

- Comprehensive knowledge of Australian workplace relations and employment related legislation and awards

- Strong communication skills,



with the ability to explain complex legal concepts in plain English to non-legal audiences

- Excellent drafting and negotiation skills

- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and as part of a team

- A genuine passion for employment law and for being a true specialist in this area of law
