Experienced baker / Production leader

BAKER of THINGS is looking for an experienced, passionate and organised Baker to join our growing bakery operation.

Based in Richmond, we make authentic sourdough, exceptional cakes and sandwiches, with a strong focus on quality, consistency and craftsmanship. This is an opportunity to take a leading role in a supportive, positive team and grow with an ambitious business.

You’ll be reporting to and supported by the executive chef and be responsible for producing high-quality products while helping oversee prep, kitchen workflow, quality control and day-to-day operations. You’ll also contribute to product development, monthly specials, costing, testing, team training and maintaining high standards of food safety and cleanliness.

- Experienced in baking and cake production, with strong attention to detail

- Organised, reliable and confident managing kitchen workflow

- Passionate about quality, consistency and continuous improvement

- Excited to contribute to the long-term growth of the business

- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices for commercial baking

What You’ll Be Doing

- Lead daily cake,



sandwich and prep production, ensuring consistency and quality.

- Develop and launch monthly specials, including testing, costing and team training.

- Oversee kitchen workflow, prep timing and daily operations.

- Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, cleanliness and stock rotation.

- Monitor product quality, freshness, allergens and ingredient information.

- Train and support the team in products, processes and quality expectations.

- Communicate clearly and proactively with the team.

- Take ownership of challenges and drive practical solutions.

- Ensure end-of-day kitchen and dishwashing areas are completed to standard.

- Identify opportunities to improve production, systems and efficiency.
