This is a full-time horticulture apprenticeship with a small, local landscaping and gardening business based in the Woden area. The role will be mostly horticulture and gardening, with occasional landscape construction work. You'll get experience across a good variety of jobs rather than doing the same thing every day.
Key responsibilities
- General gardening and garden maintenance
- Planting, pruning and caring for plants
- Weeding, mulching and garden preparation
- Turf and lawn work
- Hedge and tree maintenance
- Irrigation and general garden care
- Occasional landscape construction and installation work
- Learning how to use a range of tools and equipment
- Working alongside an experienced landscaper and completing your formal apprenticeship training
About you
- Reliable and ready to work
- Genuine interest in horticulture and working outdoors
- Willing to learn and take direction
- Takes pride in their work
- Valuable attitude and works well as part of a small team
- Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors in all conditions
- Previous experience is not necessary
- A White Card, Asbestos Awareness Card and Silica Awareness Card would be a bonus
- Police check will be required as part of the employment process
