We are seeking a friendly, organised, and customer-focused Receptionist to join our team on a full-time maternity leave contract. As the first point of contact for our clients, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of the clinic while providing outstanding customer service. The successful applicant will thrive in a fast-paced environment, possess excellent communication skills, and demonstrate a genuine interest in animal care and client support.
Key responsibilities
Greet clients and their pets in a welcoming and professional manner.
Manage incoming telephone calls and respond to client enquiries.
Schedule and coordinate veterinary appointments.
Process payments, invoices, and daily banking activities.
Maintain accurate client and patient records.
Assist with prescription collections and retail sales.
Support veterinarians and nurses with administrative tasks.
Manage appointment reminders and client communications.
Maintain a clean and organised reception and waiting area.
Perform general office duties, including filing, data entry, and correspondence.
About you
Previous experience in a reception, administration, or customer service role.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong organisational and time management abilities.
High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Proficient computer skills and ability to learn new software systems.
Professional presentation and positive attitude.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Previous experience within a veterinary, medical, or healthcare setting (desirable).
Knowledge of veterinary practice management software (desirable).
Experience handling accounts, invoicing, or EFTPOS transactions (desirable).
