Techforce is partnering with a major provider to build the maintenance crew for a significant steelmaking coal operation in the Bowen Basin, around two hours from Mackay.

The site is restarting under a solid recent owner with an established Queensland coal portfolio. That means a maintenance team being built from the ground up, not inherited, and a long project runway in front of it.

What we're after
Standout auto electricians who can fault-find properly rather than swap parts until the light goes out.
Certificate III in Automotive Electrical Technology (AUR30320) or recognised equivalent
5 years post-apprenticeship on mining plant
Ultra-class hydraulic excavator experience highly regarded(Hitachi EX3600, Liebherr R9350 or similar)
Solid diagnostic capability across CAT mobile plant: ET, VIMS, harness and loom repair, sensor and control system fault-finding
Comfortable working across truck, dozer, grader, loader and ancillary fleet
Current driver's licence




Ability to pass pre-employment medical, D&A; screen and National Police Check
Coal Board Medical, or willing to obtain

Restricted electrical licence, HV/24V dual systems exposure, and CAT or Hitachi OEM training are all well regarded but not mandatory.

The work
Diagnostics, repair and preventative maintenance across the electrical systems of a mixed ultra-class and ancillary fleet: hydraulic excavators, ultra-class haul trucks, large dozers, graders, loaders, water carts and service trucks. Predominantly CAT with Hitachi excavation fleet.

Also hiring
HD Fitters, Boilermakers, and Service Truck Operators on the same site and conditions.
