Our client, Haveli North Lakes, is looking for qualified and experienced chef to manage kitchen operations and prepare authentic North Indian cuisine.

Job Title: Chef

Job Responsibility:

· Oversees a restaurant's kitchen by managing food preparation, planning menus and maintaining the quality and presentation of dishes.

Duties:

· Plans menus, estimates food and labour costs, and orders food supplies;

· Monitors the quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation;

· Discusses food preparation issues with managers and kitchen staff;

· Demonstrates cooking techniques and advises kitchen staff on cooking procedures;

· Prepares and cooks authentic North Indian dishes, including curries, tandoori items, breads and accompaniments;

· Operates tandoor clay ovens and applies appropriate cooking techniques;

· Explains and enforces food hygiene and safety requirements;





· Selects and trains kitchen staff where required;

· Maintains appropriate food supplies and assists with food storage and preservation.

Qualification Requirements:

· AQF Diploma or higher in Commercial Cookery or a related field;

· Minimum 3 years of experience in a related field;

· Robust knowledge of North Indian cuisine, cooking techniques, spices and sauces;

· Demonstrated experience in tandoor (clayoven) cooking;

· Food Safety Supervisor certificate, or willingness to obtain.

Salary:

· $80,000 - $85,000 + Superannuation

Working condition:

· Full Time

· 38 hours per week

Pay: $80,000.00 – $85,000.00 per year
