About the role
We're looking for an experienced Finance & Payroll Officer to join our Finance team, reporting to the Financial Controller. This is a hands-on, wide-ranging role covering end-to-end payroll alongside core finance functions including accounts payable, bank reconciliations and month-end support. You'll be the go-to person for payroll queries and play a key role in keeping our financial records accurate and up to date.
Key responsibilities
Process end-to-end fortnightly payroll accurately and on time
Manage current starters, terminations and payroll changes
Maintain payroll records and respond to payroll-related enquiries from staff and management
Match supplier invoices to purchase orders, process payments and maintain supplier accounts
Complete daily bank reconciliations and monitor accounts receivable
Prepare month-end journals and reconcile general ledger accounts
Maintain the fixed asset register and support monthly stocktake reconciliation
Assist with the preparation of management reports
About you
Demonstrated experience in end-to-end payroll processing, with a sound understanding of PAYG, superannuation and the National Employment Standards
Proven finance/accounts experience across accounts payable, accounts receivable and general ledger reconciliation
Intermediate Excel skills, including formulas
Excellent numeracy, attention to detail and data accuracy
Solid problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate and resolve discrepancies
A confident communicator, comfortable liaising with staff, management and suppliers
Highly organised, with the ability to manage competing priorities independently
A positive, proactive and team-focused approach
