Job Description
Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (Avionics)
n
BAE Systems Australia is looking for an Avionics Aircraft Maintenance Engineer to join the Hawk Lead‐In Fighter program within our Aerospace organisation.
n
Key Responsibilities
n
n
Carry out maintenance, inspections, and fault diagnosis on avionics systems and components across both fixed‐wing and rotary‐wing aircraft.
n
Ensure all work is performed using authorised technical data, compliant with regulatory and organisational standards.
n
Accurately document maintenance activities, meeting certification and reporting requirements within required timeframes.
n
Action engineering advice, defect reporting, maintenance deficiencies, and publication amendments as directed.
n
Report and escalates any defects, non‐conformances, or quality issues to the Team Leader in line with procedures.
n
Perform maintenance tasks within your delegated authority while upholding the highest standards of safety, quality, and compliance.
n

Qualifications
n
n
Hold an Aircraft Maintenance Trade – Certificate IV Aeroskills – Avionics (Mandatory).
n
Australian Citizen with the ability to obtain a Defence Clearance (Mandatory).
n
Experience or a strong interest in working with Defence Military Aircraft.
n
Robust written and verbal communication skills.
n
Ability to deliver work within a rapid‐paced team setting.
n

Location & Additional Information
n
Based at RAAF Base Williamtown, NSW. Relocation support is available for candidates living outside the Williamtown, Hunter, and Maitland region. This role requires Australian citizenship and the ability to obtain a Defence Clearance. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) may apply.
